Well then - let's immediately strip every penny from these 85 people and share that money equally among those 3.5 billion of the poorest people.

Actually, that $1.83T translates to $520 per person and would make an appreciable difference in their lives for a year or in some cases for as long as three years. The big difference would be what happened when that money was gone. I don't want to see what the world would look like for the poor (and these people would remain desperately poor) if we wiped out the wealth of our 85 most productive individuals.

Where would that money go? It would be spent and probably end back with a very small group of people.

Not that I advocate taking the money. The purpose of this article isn’t to take their money. Its to increase taxes on the middle class.
