The big problem here is that few know what “wealth” is... it is NOT money or income. A middle-class household with 2 moderate income-earners can have zero wealth if they are renting their home, are leasing their vehicles, have no stock portfolio, etc. A few hundred million people can easily fit in that mold, and have a net total wealth equal to that of your neighbor’s cat.
They can have 0 wealth even if they “own” their home (or 2) if their mortgage is about = to the value of their home and they have other debt. I would bet that half the world population have about no wealth at all.
