Have you ever seen what Curt Shilling thinks of that?
I recall him saying at one point that part of his tape review for game prep was reviewing the ump to get a handle on the size and shape of the ump’s strike zone. And the fact that so many umps have “their” strike zone rather than THE strike zone is often listed as part of the problem with MLB officiating. So I’d guess he’d come out for things that ended custom strike zones, unless he likes the competitive advantage given to pitchers that review ump tapes.
