Woman Files For Divorce Over The Way Her Husband Eats Peas
UPI ^ | Jan. 3, 2014 | Evan Bleier

Posted on 01/03/2014 1:38:42 PM PST by nickcarraway

A woman in Kuwait found the way her husband ate his peas to be such a “shocking sight” that she filed for divorce after they had only been married for a week. The woman decided that her husband’s habit of eating peas with bread instead of a fork was an issue that they could not work out.

That’s not the only recent divorce that has nothing to do with infidelity, abuse or communication issues.

Another woman recently filed for divorce because of the way her husband squeezes toothpaste. “We are always arguing,” she reportedly told her lawyer. “I keep telling him that he should squeeze in the end of the tube, but he stubbornly refuses and keeps squeezing it in the middle. He is so obstinate.”

It’s not always just the ladies…

In another recent case, a man ended things with his wife because she wouldn’t bring him a glass of water. After she told him that there was a servant who could do it, they had an argument and he told her their marriage was over.

“One critical issue is that many spouses should use their engagement period to know each other well enough to decide whether they should go on with their union,” said a Kuwaiti legalist. “The traditional times when spouses really met each other after their marriage are over, so there are now good opportunities to know the future life partner and decide whether he or she is the right one.”

Hubby sucks air through his teeth after eating. On occasion, I’ve fantasized about tossing a throw pillow in his direction, but never have. Like you, doesn’t really seem grounds for more than the occasional fantasy.

Mr. T doesn't do anything at mealtimes that bothers me, but he does use a phrase that is annoying. I can't remember at the moment what it is, however.

This is why getting older isn't all bad. :)

I actually have an antique pea knife. It has a series of small round holes in the middle to hold the peas while you transport them to your mouth.

Not remembering what annoys us is a good thing but I almost went crazy just and hour ago. I had been to the bank and put some things in our safety deposit box. I came in the house with the key in my hand and before I put it back in it’s safe place I laid it down. I could remember doing that I just couldn’t remember where!

Quite by accident .... I found it. All kinds of things were going through my mind........ things like dementia!

I hear you, but I think it happens to almost everyone after a certain age. One of the most common lapses of memory is when a person goes from one room to another and can't remember why, seemingly as soon as they pass through the doorway. That one is annoying, but I've found that picturing myself a minute or so before I moved into the next room can be very helpful.

I've heard that taking fish oil capsules helps too, but who knows?

It's nice to see you. :)

When I am walking around the house and forget why I have gone to a certain spot...... I can usually go back to where I was thinking about whatever it was...... and the thought will pop back into my mind. Weird!

Oh my goodness!

There actually IS a thing called a "pea knife"!
And a canon of British etiquette which says that the only item of food which one may be permitted to eat from a knife, is the English pea!

Tell her to give me a call. I think we can work something out. How's she look?

Ironically, she was a real looker in sort of a librarian or school marmish way. Unfortunately, I lost track of her about 7 years ago.
