What's the latest in your home county?
.... lest we forget the Sugar Bowl to divert your attention.
It’s +7 with gusty winds.
Snow accumuating at a good clip.
Good news is that it will be fluffy and easy to plow.
Bad news is that we are expecting wind chills down to -25.
I think Massachusetts has declared a state of emergency.
I’ve been cleaning off my driveway a little at a time. The thermometer on my deck says 3 degrees and the snow (around 6 inches or so thus far) is light and easy to move. The wind is picking up-—Meredith NH
Wait how is this even possible, when Al Gore wrote in the New York Times 8 years ago that snowy winters in the Northeast were a thing of the past due to climate change?
Could be some really cold playoff games in the Midwest and Philly.
Oh noes! A foot of snow. We’re all going to die!!!
In the Cleveland area, this is the worst of the storms so far.
Halfway up the Maine coast it got up to +5 degrees today. Windy with light snow at the present. Supposed to get the better part of foot overnight.
I have my car as close to the road as I dare, enough to avoid the snow plows.
Just get a call that school has been cancelled for tomorrow.
It’s looking pretty bad for me here in CA too. It’s supposed to get all the way down to 68 degrees.
Just want to know if the coast is clear ...
I busted butt and put in a transfer switch this summer, wired to an outside outlet.
Also built a new shed. The remaining wire is now a lead cord that will reach from the shelter of the shed to the plug !
The Generac is gassed and ready.
Here on the central CT coast... a flake here and there, with no accumulation.
(Cue John Facenda's NFL Films voice)
The school district cancelled all evening activities, so no recreation b’ball this evening. And the snow has barely started here at the Jersey Shore.
Thanks for the reminder! 7:30 C on ESPN I hope Brent Musburger is not an announcer! To much of a drama queen for me.
Was suppose to start teaching a network security class tonight, but the school is closed.
This teacher is glad cause I wasn’t really all that ready to go tonight. Will spend my time getting ready for next Thursday. LOL
Michigan here: Went to Wayne County from, well...south of Wayne County. (left around 10:30 am) It took us twice as long as normal, mostly 30-45 mph on the expressway. Very, very slippery.
About as long to come home, worse coming home really, as there was “rush” hour traffic. My husband has numb hands and white knuckles. Roads are getting nicely polished by wind, too.
Glad to be home. Looks like two inches of snow fell since we left.
It’s a snowstorm. No big deal. I’ve had to use the snowblower on the driveway twice today so far. That’s a fairly ordinary snowstorm in upstate New York.
Is the news media making this sound like the end of the world? Honestly, those people have a case.
My asshat governor has declared a state of emergency when the snow has just started within the past hour. He has threatened to close the LIE and I-87 (two major arteries in the southern part of NY). This little fascist dictator makes me sick. The asshat governor of Connecticut dismissed state employees early today-before the snow even started. What has happened to us? The media manipulates us into a frenzy for 8” of snow! When I was a kid, we dealt with two feet of snow and managed. We have become a nation of wimps with wimpy leaders.
They closed schools today at 10:30 in the morning. The snow had not even started yet! How did we ever fight a revolutionary war, a depression and two world wars? We would not be able to do that today.
Eh.
