Tranquil Weather across Most of the Nation for Christmas Day
NOAA ^ | 12/25/2013 | Unknown

Posted on 12/25/2013 6:52:01 AM PST by rktman

Most of the nation will experience quiet weather today as there are no major storm systems to threaten holiday plans. Cold temperatures will continue in the East, with some locations 10-15 degrees below average. Mainly light snowfall is forecast from the northern Plains to New England, with the exception being Michigan where lake-effect snow could be heavy in some locales.

Okay, I guess someone didn't let NOAA know, or they didn't get the memo about govt agencies mentioning Christmas. The header and today's forecast both mention Christmas Day. Guess they'll get called on it by someone eventually.

It was 74 in Hollister, Watsonville, and Salinas, CA yesterday. About 70 on the San Fran peninsula yesterday. I’m hoping we get some storms — we desperately need the water and to clear the foul, stagnant, smoggy air. Reminds me of the second winter I spent in Northern California in ‘74 - ‘75 — warm, stagnant, drought. Yuck.

Merry Christmas to all!

Roger that. I just looked at the “extended” forecast and it looks like we’re in for dry conditions for a while longer. Sierras need some serious snow. Last year wasn’t good. This year not much yet.

Maybe the folks in the NE will get a break and get their power back on soon. I’ve been through extended power outages in FL post-hurricane and it was uncomfortable to say the least. Those folks in the NE without power right now? That can be deadly, not just uncomfortable. So, which is better? Warm or cold? Uh, I’m thinkin’ it’s probably better to be a little uncomfortably warm than dead and frozen.

Exactly. However, I know the envirowackos are upset that “the worst storm in history” didn’t destroy Christmas across the nation. I feel sorry for those people without electricity but I’m also afraid that it’s something that we’re all going to have to get used to. Until we get rid of Barry, anyway. Hopefully, the next administration will not be obsessed with putting a “hurt” on Americans the way this one is.

Yup. Unfortunately for us, what the “lyin’ king” has placed upon us in a mere 5 years (seems like eons), is gonna take decades to correct. If it can ever be corrected.

Had a nice squall last night for about two hours here in the lower Hudson valley of NY. Re-covered the ground with snow for a white Christmas today.

A blessing.

All my ancestors on my dad’s side (once they got here) are/were all based in the Hudson Valley area. Our white Christmas is melting pretty quick here in N. Nevada.

About a month ago, didn’t Joe Bastardi predict Snowmageddon for Christmas?
