No matter what, there will be those that will foist it upon us like “sinko” de mayo.
Cinco de Mayo is a real holiday. It recognizes Mexico’s military defeat of French invaders. Yeah, it’s no big accomplishment but it’s still an excuse for a party.
Someone (?) said if you go a hundred miles south of the border and ask about cinco de mayo you get blank stares. Heck, I don’t want to go within a hundred miles of the border on this side. LOL!
