Nationwide country restaurant Cracker Barrel has reversed its decision of Friday to stop selling some Duck Dynasty merchandise with Papa Phil's face prominently displayed. Thanks to fierce customer backlash and a strong anti-Cracker Barrel Twitter campaign, the restaurant tweeted on Sunday that Duck Dynasty products are back on the shelves.

Turns out that Cracker Barrel was on our side all along.

They removed the Duck Dynasty products because those profits go to A&E.

They left the Duck Commander products on display because those profits go to the Robertsons.

That was actually a better response, but fine structure always gets lost on the Interwebs.

Yep. It rarely takes private industry long to notice the paying customers have voted with their feet; government, by contrast, takes deep, abiding pride in its disdain for all thought of success or failure, customer approval or disapproval, profit or loss.

Left Duck Commander on display

Not in the store I went to-—— ALL of the Robertson merchandise was moved to the clearance shelves.

You know if it was reported from that perspective the Lavender Leotards would be screeching even louder. It’s a pity we can’t get it out there.

I think that little tidbit was put out by Cracker Barrel. They were trying to have it both ways.

Stop making excuses for them. In order to appear politically correct, they made an ill-thought out knee-jerk response. Heads need to roll in their executive suite.

I don't believe that is true. It certainly is not the way their apology reads.

Duck Back On Menu

That brings up an idea. How about Duck for Christmas dinner or New Years. Send a subliminal message.

Regardless, it was a knee jerk reaction... if they had planned ahead to punish A&E by pulling the merchandise, they should have taken the time to inform the public... however, all the public heard was that CB was removing DD merchandise. In fact, the only place I’ve heard your explanation is here on FR... So CB erred on all fronts.

This is a huge victory for conservatives and free speech. The libs have been making retail a target for their views for a long time. Rush is a good example of sponsors jumping ship.

I see this as the pendulum swaying in the other direction.

I think we should buy a duck call from Duck Commander web site and any time a lib opens their lips start quacking and eventually we might drive them quackery!

These are not victories. Each time the bible revisionists and liberals push the envelope too far they still gain ground. The message has been sent. Unless you have the largest TV audience in history, you may not use the bible in public to talk about homosexual sin.

Don't send a subliminal message send an visual or audible one like I'm doing. Buy a Duck Commander duck call. Wear it proudly in a lanyard for a visual message. And when you encounter the "displaying gays" or a "Happy Holidays liberal", blow on it for a significant audible message. Not so subtle, but effective...and LOUD! "quuuaaaccckkk! Amazing how quickly "they" get the point.

You’re wrong! CB did not remove DD stuff because they were protesting A&E, they pulled Phil Robertson stuff because they feared the queer lobby.

They only switched gears because their customer base set them straight.
