hi null and void, haven’t seen you for a long time. happy to see u again. :)
To: chinaboy
it is so easy for me to enter hk, but maybe u can came by and drop in on me. :) That's very kind for you to invite me to visit. However, although it's very easy for we Americans to enter Hong Kong (and Macau) it's a bit difficult for us to enter China because of visa requirements. We must apply for a visa in our country of residence and we must do it in person at a Chinese consulate. And there's a fee that must be paid as well (it's been a couple of years since my last application but I think it was about 50 US dollars). As a result I wasn't planning to visit China this time.Maybe we can go up to the border and wave to each other on opposite sides of the river! :-)

Do you know of any language lessons that teach exact vocabulary translation with Roman characters?
I find it much easier to learn exact words and learn the usage in parallel.

I would so love to understand Mandarin. It really is true what they say: Chinese people and American people love each other.
