That's very kind for you to invite me to visit.However,although it's very easy for we Americans to enter Hong Kong (and Macau) it's a bit difficult for us to enter China because of visa requirements.We must apply for a visa in our country of residence and we must do it in person at a Chinese consulate.And there's a fee that must be paid as well (it's been a couple of years since my last application but I think it was about 50 US dollars).As a result I wasn't planning to visit China this time.Maybe we can go up to the border and wave to each other on opposite sides of the river! :-)
