As you finish up your holiday shopping this year, you might be feeling the desire to buy American-made products. Any number of things claim to be made in the USA, but that label itself is not an absolute guarantee that what youre buying was indeed produced stateside.
While there are federal standards for what qualifies as Made in America, there is no vetting or certification process that goes on before that label can be applied.
So a company could slap a made-in-USA sticker on its products and hope it doesnt get caught, much like E.K. Ekcessories, an outdoor accessories company that the FTC recently accused [PDF] of deceptively marketing its products with labels like Truly Made In the USA, and statements on its website that its products were made at the companys facilities in Utah.

When buying dog treats, I noticed there are many scam companies who put, “Manufactured for xxx, USA” to give the appearance that it’s made in the USA. I refuse to buy any dog product that fails to say, “Made in the USA”.

...Personally I am so tired of seeing everything....from produce to clothing to cookies, crackers, cereals, frozen veggies, etc...stamped 'from Mexico' or Made in Mexico'
Have we literally sent all our manufacturing companies to Mexico?--(& China of course)....
And if so, why are the Mexicans coming here to work.....they already own all our products!
Millions of our citizens are jobless.....
I’ve noticed more *Made in the USA* products this year, than in the recent past.
