Every year, for the past seven years, someone (usually a Big 10 fan) makes the statement that the SEC is overrated....and every year the SEC crushes their opponent in the championship - except in 2012 when it was an all SEC game. Last year, there was a large group here who were certain Notre Dame would beat Alabama. Right.
The only team that can give Alabama or Auburn a game is FSU. If FSU plays OSU for the BCS, then it will be another slaughter.
If Alabama played in the Big10 they’d have 2 or 3 losses on their schedule. See I can do that too.
I think it’s funny that the SEC fans think their conference is so great, but apparently it’s easy enough that two teams which went a combined 2-14 in conference play last year were able to make it through the conference with only one loss apiece this year.
It’s not like Auburn didn’t play their cupcakes:
#110 Arkansas State
#217 W Carolina
#80 Florida Atl
#83 Arkansas
#63 Tennessee
5 Games with an average ranked opponent of: 110.
Well, let's analyze that claim.
So let's put them in the SEC East. They sure wouldn't have lost to Vandy thru Kentucky (east bottom dwellers). That means, among Mizzou, South Carolina, and Georgia, you're claiming they'd have lost to all three, and then lost to Auburn or Alabama in the West, (but have beaten Ole Miss or Arkansas, to fill out your hypothetical schedule.
So you're saying OSU beats none of those four teams? Really? None? I'd love to see Alabama play a home and home against OSU. Just make it a mid-November play date, that's all I am saying.
