The tiger is more agile, more intelligent due to its solitary nature, and evolved in challenging terrains with complex features. It will win a death match with a lion.
Gotta love those catfights ...

One on one? The tiger 4 times out of 5.
Now toss a polar bear into the mix. The polar bear wins 99 times out of 100.

Apparently none of these so called experts saw ‘Narnia’. Aslan is an easy winner against all comers.

I remember being eight years old and watching Tarzan movies in which one would occasionally see a battle between a tiger and a lion, notwithstanding the fact that they occupy different continents and would not meet each other in the jungle. But what would I have known back then?
Anyway, I cannot recall which animal won. I think, though, that I would have been rooting for the tiger; I thought then that they were the neatest of all the big cats. I still do.

I will always remember looking at a tiger in the Central Park Zoo, it was staring at me with a very intent look which clearly conveyed to me “if these bars were not here, I would eat you right now”; I never really saw a lion look at me that way, they generally seem bored in a very catly way.
So yeah, I’d have to bet on the tiger.

Tigers can weigh upwards of 800 lbs, whereas lions generally weigh 400-500 lbs.
I think the tiger would take it in most instances.

Reminds me of Frank Stockton's old story:
"And so I leave it with all of you: Which came out of the opened door - the lion, or the tiger?"

I remember seeing an old black & white short film of a tiger and lion fighting each other. As I recall the tiger was kicking ass.

I’d rather not force them to fight just for the hell of it.
If it goes on in the wild, so be it. I don’t like bloodsport just for sh1ts and grins.
