Integrity League

December 2, 2013

We call it the Integrity League, but it’s really just a bunch of guys who get together at lunchtime to play basketball. We call fouls on ourselves, attempt to avoid angry outbursts, and simply try to keep everything fair and enjoyable. We are competitive and we don’t like to lose—but we all agree that integrity and honesty should control the atmosphere.

Integrity. Scripture clearly indicates the importance of this trait. And we honor the God of our lives when we practice it.

Through His Word, God has given us clear reasons to “walk in . . . integrity” (Ps. 26:11). A person who has integrity has the security of a quiet life unknown to the one who “perverts his ways” (Prov. 10:9). The follower of God who lives with integrity is preserved by his confidence in God, for that person waits for God’s intervention in his life instead of running ahead of Him (Ps. 25:21). And the one who practices integrity will be given guidance and clear direction (Prov. 11:3).

Why should we care about life’s “Integrity League”? Because obeying God this way shows that we trust Him with our lives and that we want to shine His great love on others.

Dear Father, help my word be true. Help my
actions be honest. Help my life to
reflect Your holiness and shine God’s light
for all to see. Help me to live with integrity.
Integrity is Christlike character in workclothes

Handel’s “Messiah”, of course!

But I wrote a Christmas oratorio too. It is called “Sar Shalom” and was performed once years ago.

It’s good but can’t hold a candle to Handel.

The weather was wonderful. It did get pretty cool after sundown.

Disneyland was sooo crowded it was almost impossible to walk. The California adventure was not quite so crowded but still way too many people. We should have stayed at visited Disneyland on Thanksgiving. LOL

Most of the rides had long lines with at least a 40 minute wait. Marissa didn't get to ride too many times. She rode that Matterhorn, rode the nothing boat and went on the little kid airplanes. She did some shopping and saw several Disney characters.

We watched the Christmas parade twice ... once during daylight and once after the sun went down. We watched the fireworks from our hotel. They were awesome.

The second day, we went to California Adventure. There, we watched a show, she hugged Pluto and we ate dinner at one of the restaurants. Marissa rode the big roller coaster 3 times. There was another ride she wanted to take but the line was at least a 90 minutes wait. We watched another parade.

If you go, do not go when school is on vacation or holiday.

One on MrJust’s nephews spent one day with us. Went to dinner and the mall.

We all had a great time.

How about a link to Mannheim Steamroller?

Sounds like you had a good time, but I do wish they would limit the amount of people they let in. You paid the same amount that people pay when there are fewer crowds but still had long waits for rides. I know it would be disappointing to find out that the park was closed due to too many people, but it is almost more disappointing to pay to get in and not be able to enjoy the park because of long lines at the rides. Maybe they should take reservations? I don't know.

Yes, I will find a graphic and a link to some Mannheim Steamroller. I am internet Christmas shopping on Amazon today, but it's time for a break. BTW, need an inexpensive and very cool gift? Do a search on Amazon for "recipe rock". I am getting one for almost everyone on my Christmas list as a stocking stuffer. The guys can use it on their office desks and the women in the kitchen (I know, I am stereotyping - don't care, LOL.)

Next, we (the dogs and I) are going to decorate the tree and get the house all Christmasy. "Killion's Bed and Breakfast" is expecting to be very busy in December. LOL. I enjoy having holiday company, but I have so much to do!!

Hi, all!

Challenges And Treasure Haiku

Chairs and Tables are
Challenges that require much
Patience and Finesse

A very tall leap
is needed for a Chair. And
shorter ones later

Tables are always
near Chairs. Which is one of Life's
curious Blessings

The small Table in
My Pretty One's Treasure Room
beckons me to come

Its top is Hard and
Slippery Smooth under my
soft and gliding Paws

Shiny Things seem to
fall nearby whenever I
visit and explore

A Smooth and Pretty
Bowl seems made just for Me as
it slowly empties

Lots of Shiny Things
fall outside the Bowl waiting
closer inspection

Now I have a Safe
Place to have Fun and tease My
Curiosity!
