Let me explain something. When a child is diagnosed with a disorder, very often the parent will be eligible for a monthly social security check to help that child.

Result? Some truly needy children get help. But also, scams galore! In some neighborhoods there are people who will, for a fee, coach a child on how to "fail" a disorder test.

Child fails test, parent gets monthly checks. Everybody's happy. Except, of course, the taxpayers. But who cares about them?

Schools get extra funding. This is like the speed traps...

My friends grandchild was diagnosed with autism...grandma says the school is nuts.

The schools benefit from such diagnoses too, don’t they?

When a child is diagnosed with a disorder, very often the parent will be eligible for a monthly social security check to help that child.

Additionally, the schools are eligible for additional funding for the number of "special needs" students that they count on their books. Interesting since this process of diagnosis is often initiated by the teachers.
