No woman who has successfully prevented pregnancy by using contraceptives ever goes around saying that if only she hadn't used the pill 25 years ago, she'd have a kid in college now.

Maybe not, but I often have both men and women tell me that they wish they had had more children when they were able to, instead of making the easier choices at the time.

I think that regret over not having more children is a little different than continually obsessing over the child that one killed. Many post-abortive women know exactly how old their child would be, and try to imagine what that child would be like. They can only do that because their child existed. People who avoid pregnancy in the first place have no basis on which to obsess over a child who never existed.
