I think that regret over not having more children is a little different than continually obsessing over the child that one killed. Many post-abortive women know exactly how old their child would be, and try to imagine what that child would be like. They can only do that because their child existed. People who avoid pregnancy in the first place have no basis on which to obsess over a child who never existed.
Oh, yes, it’s quite different. However, both reactions - to obsess or not to - demonstrate how trivial the sex act is, when divorced from its ontological purpose.
It’s almost universal for people to say that the day their child was born is unforgettable, but who says, “Oh, yeah, the best day of my life ... when I had sex with ... oh, you know, whatshisname!”
