Earlier this week, former President Bill Clinton advised President Obama to "honor the commitment" he made and to allow Americans to keep their health care plans, if they like them. That was a central promise Obama made when he sold Obamacare, but one that turned out not to be true when Obamacare began to be implemented last month.
"So I personally believe, even if it takes a change to the law, the president should honor the commitment the federal government made to those people and let them keep what they got," Clinton in an interview released Tuesday.
Now President Obama is taking Clinton's advice and trying to honor that commitment. In remarks today at the White House today, Obama said, "I completely get how upsetting this can be" lose insurance plans that I promised Americans would be able to keep. "To those Americans, I hear you loud and clear."
But there's a catch with president's proposed solution. The president is not proposing that the law be changed to allow all health insurance plans grandfathered into Obamacare's eligibility requirements.
No, instead the White House is saying that it will use "enforcement discretion" to allow illegal health insurance plans to be able to still be sold. That is, the Obama administration will not enforce the penalty on individuals for not having eligible health insurance plans and they'll allow the insurance companies to still sell so-called bad plans -- plans they technically can't sell under Obamacare.

The White House has no right whatsoever to “Enforcement Discretion”.
They’ve already used “enforcement discretion” with the IRS, just ask conservatives nationwide. So did the NSA and all his other minions - enforcement discretion is the core of his administration.
Sure they do. Who’s going to call them on it?
Obama now wants insurance companies to offer policies that are against the law. If they do offer these illegal plans, then the Obama administration won’t penalize them for a year. What insurance company legal department would sign off on that?!
We are supposed to be a nation of laws, not a nation of good intentions. The ACA is not the “law of the land”, it is the “law of won man”. Has anyone tracked how many re-writes of the “law of the land” there have been since its passage and signing AND since the SCOTUS morphed it from a mandate to a tax? It is probably not even the same law that Roberts made love to and impregnated giving birth to a new tax and a completely different law.
And the band played on.....
Icy cold water
The Glitch that stole America. I can see it now in technicolor.
They don’t care about laws. ObamaCare is almost broke already. They really have no budget for it. They never had a budget for it. Ever since this Dictator and his Teleprompter were elected they’ve never passed a budget.
More important, how long will it be before the low information voters understand the ruse?
Just making stuff up now.
Say what?
Gingrich is pushing that point. This will not be a waiver BEFORE the law goes into effect. This will be, and he used the word “dictator”, picking what laws to enforce AFTER the law has gone into effect.
Three quick points:
1.) Tyrant Obama cannot legally change the Bill that he signed into Law.
Only the US Congress can legally change the Law, which then can be signed by Obama.
_________
2.) The MANDATORY dictate in Obamacare is the only factor that is essential to that Federal Law.
Take out the MANDATORY dictate in Obamacare, and only the Federally subsidized, or chronically unhealthy will buy it.
For example:
What would be the incentive for increased consumer demand for policy purchase of a NON-MANDATORY Obama Socialized Health Insurance Tax instead of purchasing a policy from a private insurance company?

3.) Will the House RINOs think of either of the above two points? I seriously doubt it.
drypowder, it was pointed out on FOX that the policies would be cancelled in October just before the election.
xeno, Gingrich just brought that up. He said obama is telling the insurance companies “Trust me this time.” He said lawyers are already preparing lawsuits.
Several months ago the democrats were saying “Once this law goes into effect the republicans will want to claim credit for it.” I hope the republicans remind them of that.
