I agree. There is nothing worse than an obese doctor telling someone they need to watch their weight.
just don’t tell them they have Ghetto Bootie!
He said I know what the problem is. Its ghetto booty, Ragland told WREG in Memphis. I think I blacked out after he said ghetto booty. I think my mind was just stuck on the phrase because I couldnt believe he said that.”
Sweo had diagnosed Ragland with lumbar lordosis, but decided “to take a technical conversation regarding your lower back and make it less technical,” he later wrote her after she had complained to the office manager.
Roux-en-Y anastomosis gastric bypass surgery is free with the Veteran’s dept. hospital system and I’m pondering it. Studies say my diabetes will be cured ON THE TABLE by the operation.
I’m immune to pontificating on the topic of obesity: I’m a smoker, you see, and there’s not a medical “professional” left who can look past that.
Fat chance.
In my Dr’s office, 19 out of 20 women working there are seriously fat.
I do not think that harassing people about their weight will help. Harassing them makes them stress. Stress makes them eat.
I suspect that part of the obesity problem can be attributed to the obsession with controlling other people’s weight that the country seems to have. It’s a backlash.
If the Feds are concerned about obesity, then why not CANCEL THE FOOD STAMP PROGRAM ?
Interesting. According to this article, under these new guidelines docs are told to send overweight or obese patients heading for cardiac problems to AT LEAST 14 face-to-face counseling sessions within a 6 month period.
The Obamacare site woes are just the tip of the iceberg. We are going to have to fight hard to see a doctor, who will then tell us how to eat and exercise and send us to counseling until we have the obtained the Obama approved BMI.
When does Moochelle start HER counseling sessions?
Wouldn’t knocking out or at least cutting back on Food Stamps work better?
I remember Rush pointing out (correctly I believe) that the so-called obesity problem is a result of the push to make smokers quit.
Smokers can and do quit, but the desire for that ‘oral fixation’ never goes away. Can’t light up, so they eat.
My Mom's family was the same way. Her sisters one was always heavy set and always busy doing something such as gardening etc. The oldest sister weighed maybe 85 pounds and could live on one small meal a day. The heavier one didn't eat that much either. Mom's brother is on the heavy side as were her uncles and several aunts.
I don't believe the weight in itself is the serious issue to the extent experts make it out to be. Rather I believe it's ones activity that plays a far more crucial roll.
The government has no right to tell doctors what to do. Period
