The Walking Dead is a wonderful series, provided one watches it as a metaphor for modern life. The zombies are all around us these days, particularly in Washington D.C. and in most state assemblies, in the media, and all universities. They are also seeded liberally (choice of vocabulary deliberate) throughout society.

The Governor could be read as Lenin, Stalin, Mao or what have you. Anyone who promises safety in exchange for liberty, fakes straightforwardness, and leads a secret and degenerate life in private. Certain American so-called “leaders” come to mind, ahem, naming no names.

When Rick and all the others attempt to keep on living life as if nothing had happened, it’s telling. How many people in these modern days of zombie proliferation keep right on attempting to live life as if nothing were going on?

It’s the old story of the frog in the pot with the heat turned up. The frog never jumps out of the water and is slowly cooked.

Don’t be fooled - zombies are everywhere. The question is, How will it affect your life?

Regarding activity with the governor, Andrea was the epitome of a liberal idealist. She thought she could compromise with the governor in exchange for saving “everyone” It represents the false premise that the United States must be held to universal norms imposed by dictatorial powers (i.e. the UN). You can’t compromise with evil which is what we have learned especially with Chamberlain and World War II. In the end, Andrea’s attempts at compromise proved to be her ultimate undoing.

I agree they around us. But if I went down the street with an entrenching tool, whacking them in the head, I would get about three blocks before the cops shot me dead.
