David Ortiz brings Ring Number 3 home

He’s got three rings now, but it’s No. 3 that David Ortiz can wear with the most pride.Pride for this city he plays in, and pride in the way he plays for this city.David Ortiz won the 2013 World Series Most Valuable Player award in a decision that could only be described as a complete lock midway through the series. It was as much of a lock as this entire Red Sox season came out of the blue in so many ways, both tragic and ecstatic.Ortiz dominated Cardinals pitching in the first five games to the point that, by Game 6 last night, their pitchers and coaches finally — finally! — wised up and took the bat out of his hands. They walked him four times, three times intentionally, meaning Ortiz had to find contentment with scoring two runs and watching the batters behind him make the Cardinals pay. - See more at: http://bostonherald.com/sports/red_sox_mlb/boston_red_sox/2013/10/david_ortiz_brings_ring_no_3_home#sthash.BLSMD0hD.dpuf

Two years ago the sports media was saying he was washed up. HAH! Leftist a-holes.

I'm a lifelong Yankees fans and I say Congrats to the Boston Red Sox. They played like a real team. George Will was wrong again! (He predicted the Cards in a rout)

Clutch hitting trumps good pitching every time.

I live and breathe Red Sox, but that Cards team will be around for a looong time - their only Free Agent is the token Met, and most of the team are under 25.

Sox have a stocked farm, too - but nobody does player development like the Cards. Damn them.

I knew there was a good reason I was pulling for the Red Sox. Somewhere deep in my spiritual center I knew George Will was betting on the Cardinals. Big Papi da’ man.

One of the best players - and best guys - in the history of Red Sox baseball.

Outstanding! Now we can hear Mumbles Menino and Live Shot Kerry stumble through their semi literate (in the case of Mumbles) and Patrician (in the case of you-know-who) tributes.

I trembled for the Cards each time he came to bat.

A truly great performance.

Something the Sox aren't familiar with.....it's the 28th World Championship that's the harderst. :-)

Congratulations, Red Sox

Past 13 years - Sox 3, Pat’s 3, B’s & C’s 1 each. What a welcome change from when I was growing up.

If it wasn’t for the Rangers meltdown, DFW would have joined the “Four Champions Club” as well.

I don’t know how the hell write ins can be allowed in 2 person runoff elections (this was an issue in San Diego once when a write in candidate appeared to have “won” the office of Mayor) but there were 560 of them in the Boston mayoral race and David Ortiz got the largest share and thus finished third.

Ortiz finished 3rd? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

His English speaking skills would be superior to Menino’s. Plus, he can’t be worse than the pinky-ring wearing union thug that won. Walsh just looks like an a-hole to me.

Fun story on Peavy buying a duck boat:

I don’t believe him, I bet he woke up after partying for 2 days straight and saw that he had bought a duck boat. ;p

You now can’t Google “duck boat” without seeing this story. The wikipedia article for them is now the 6th or 7th result!

I remember when I was a kid we went on one in the Wisconsin Dells. It was fun. I would have bought one too.

I agree.

Been here my whole life; never been on a duck boat tour. You had fun in WI? I thought that was unholy ground for Chicagoans? :)

We went to the Dells many times. Lots of fun for a kid. Maybe the most fun I had in my entire childhood was driving a boat there, I forget how old I was.
