Quick question. Which is more accurate (all things considered, since we’re dealing with the government and random strangers): the official Oklahoma benefits page, or a Facebook page that may or may not include someone’s children? Probably the OK gov page

If you're so anxious to defend these welfare mamas then you can believe whatever you like. I'm just pointing out that 2 of those mamas posted how much they get and the odds of both of them adding extra zeroes are pretty slim.

Where and how am I defending anyone? Why the rage when no rage is needed?

“If it is indeed accurate, then outrage is warranted, assuming she only has 3 kids. But it appears it isn’t accurate.”

That’s a snippet of what I wrote in my original post. My point is we shouldn’t flip out until we have all the facts. And it appears we did not have all the facts.

In your first post you claimed there could be a typo and made snarky comments about Internet outrage. In your second you figured that 2 women who posted what they were getting would be wrong while the State of Oklahoma, which has nothing but generic tables for you to look at, would be more accurate. There is no rage involved. More like puzzlement at why you would be so concerned about this mama's accuracy. Do you really have this picture in your mind of Freepers foaming at the mouth over one more abuse in a system that is already so rife with abuse that you become numbed to it?

Re-read my first post. I’m not defending the “welfare mamas”. What happened to getting all the facts before getting p*ssed? (Not just you, but pretty much everyone on the internet.) If this woman is indeed getting over $1k a month in food stamps, my head may well explode. But I’m saving my outrage until I know for sure. My bs meter went off with the amount she claimed, so I checked it out. Still seemed really high. Actually, just about any welfare amount seems like a high amount to me.

And is this just food stamps/EBT benefits, or are these “welfare mamas” including other benefits? Again, I’m asking because I like knowing where to direct my rage.

So, if it’s right, boom! Exploding head. If it’s not, ok. Correct it and move on. But don’t spread stuff all over the internet (not you...everyone) without doing some fact checking.

How the hell is that thought process considered defending one side or another?

And in another post she complains about people who value money & material things. This is really depressing that this happens in Oklahoma. As a Texan, I was envious of their voting record & hoped it might be a place to refugee to if things got too bad down here. Looks like not.
