Now she is sueing Breitbart’s widow and orphans for accurately posting what she said, and Obama’s firing of her.

I’m surprised they are using onshore phone banks.

I found out this last weekend that my cousin's wife is working a call center somewhere in southwest Idaho. Caldwell, I think. West of Boise by about 25 miles.

She told my folks that the first thing they drilled into their heads was to use Affordable Care Act, not Obamacare. And to correct folks if they used Obamacare.

Maybe he can give her a ‘gross’ income at a higher amount so she can ‘net’ out the $26,000 (after her tax rate is applied). But if she takes in $26,000 she would be required to file and tax rate applied, then less any deductions.

He is also paying all of the gift taxes.

There is no tax on gifts to the recipient. The tax is on the giver, as it reduces the giver's estate, and we can't have that happening without the government getting it's bite.

The reason he gave $13,000 to her (for 2013, the exclusion is actually $14,000) and a child is that the tax law allows an individual to give up to this amount without paying the gift tax. If he'd given the entire $26,000 to her, he'd pay tax on all of it.

Recipients of gifts do not pay taxes on the gift received. The giver does. That's why he split it between her and her son. They'll both get $13,000 and keep $13,000 tax free and Sean won't have to pay the gift tax on it for either one.
