For the first time, WA health authorities have allowed embryos to be screened to reduce the chance of a high-risk family having a child with autism.
The Reproductive Technology Council approved the application for a fertility clinic to do a pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, or PGD, to screen for autism.
There are no genetic tests for autism, so instead of looking for a gene mutation, the screening identifies the embryo's sex because boys are at least four times more likely to develop autism.
It is a new frontier in embryo screening because, unlike other conditions with a distinct genetic basis, autism is believed to be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors.
Though most Australian health authorities, including the RTC, consider applications case by case, Britain's Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority is weighing up whether to allow autism screening.

Am I understanding this right? The screening for autism consists of screening for boys?? Is this the latest femenazi scheme?
Sometimes I wish this kind of screening could have been made available when I was born, and then i could have been either aborted or given up for adoption at birth once ti was known.

Well I am someone who is considered on the autism spectrum and had parents who were clearly not up to the challenge. That is the brief explanation as to why I went there.
If it is discovered that some children are indeed “born gay”
- and I am not gonna actually delve into the messy details of it right now other than to say it remains a possibility that it is discovered that people who are born gay do exist - than the conundrums the left will face will be gargantuan and downright brutal. They have for years said that kids born with certain disabilities are better off aborted and have protested when churches encourage parents of such kids to consider adoption over abortion. What are they gonna say for themselves if it is discovered that you can tell if a kid is gonna be born gay? Since, in their view, being gay makes you a perpetual victim, what would they do if it then became natural to want to abort gay babies as a method to ensure gays don’t exist anymore? I think as the leftists try mental gymnastics on that one you could actually be able to experience seeing people’s heads explode.
