There are a number of URLS to look at for the story on the Pork Barrel deal that ended the shutdown. This was a $3 billion project for Illinois and Kentucky (something for Obama and something for Senator McConnell):
Politico: Conservatives accuse Mitch McConnell of 'Kentucky kickback' in spending deal
Marketwatch 'blog': Debt-ceiling bill funds Kentucky dam project to ire of McConnell foes
There's a little pork in that bill: The 5 most surprising provisions in the debt deal
Maybe each of these stories should have their own thread.
Or maybe Repbulicans should focus on the fact that the Republican Senate Minority leader sold out his party for a $3 billion deal -- what a 'dam' way to betray your party (it was for a 'dam' on the Ohio River).
Seems like Conservatives should call Senator McConnell to the carpet for becoming a 'pig farmer' and being a 'pig farmer' leader in the senate.
'Nough said. How about a party caucus, and who knows, maybe Ted Cruz or someone with backbone will become our new Senate Minority Leader.
Bringing home the bacon...
I would like to know who exactly inserted that Ill Ky money n the bill, being a skeptic it would be a neat way to get the Turtle out of the way for the next dept fiasco.
Mitch McConnell is most expensive whore I have ever heard of.
Evidently it takes 3 billion dollars to get him to bend over the barrel.

I couldnt get through on his Washington phone line - they’re not taking any more calls. So I wrote him a letter:
Dear Senator McConnell:
Because you have failed to support the full repeal of Obamacare my family has decided to make contributions to your opponent in the 2014 primary, Matt Bevin. In addition I have personally contacted the Bevin campaign and offered to do phone work and social media contacts on his behalf.
In order to save postage (my tax money), please dont bother to reply to this letter.
Thank you for taking action!
But there is a big difference between someone who inflates a resume, and someone who engages in pork barrel politics to the tune of $3 billion.
Not attended MIT? If you google this you will find it is just another of McConnell’s lies and distortions.
Mitch McConnell invented this claim and knows it is untrue.
FACT:
Matt never claimed to graduate from, have a degree from, or attend MIT.
On Matts LinkedIn profile, however, it is noted that from 2006 to 2008 he attended and completed the EO/MIT Entrepreneurial Master Program. It is an annual program that started in 1992.
Matts profile clearly states, as it always has, that this was an executive education program.
He posted his certificate of completion on his website and it clearly says MIT Enterprise Forum. It is also easy to see that this is not a diploma.
One of the articles originates from Huffington Post (or the Huff 'n Puff Post
I imagine the liberals will use this to muddy the waters...
McConnell said:
the Army Corps of Engineers requested the funding
with the Corps saying it was either fund the project
or end it, and the project was NEEDED and ought to
be kept going, but could not without the funds they
requested
and that the WH agreed also with the Corps request
with that McConnel thinks the “pork” charge is wrong
AND YET
How many projects does the Corps have going that
since sequester have been in need of funds
and are already being terminated or suspended, or will be?
How many? And where in the bill was funding for them??? No where is the answer.
McConnel and Obama got the pork. Reid bought McConnel’s cooperration for ANY deal that would raise the debt ceiling
(all Obama was ever after in the first, last and always place).
McConnel gave Obama more than a raise of the debt ceiling; he agreed to suspend ANY debt ceiling limit.
McConnel can campaign on: “I ‘opened’ the government and brought home the pork”.
If it hadn’t been pork, if McConnel met the Corps and WH request for the funds with a Conservative response, he would have told Reid that the WH and the Corps need to re-prioritize the Corps work and/or get the needed funds by shrinking the spending somewhere else.
But that’s not want he did.
No other VERY NEEDED projects in anyone else’s area was funded, though they surely must exist.
When it smells like a payoff and pork it is.
