One thing I noticed about the critter in the film is that it doesn't have a butt-crack. Even apes (even when they walk upright) have a pronounced butt-crack. To me, that increases the possibility that this is a costume:

I must admit, the thing in the video appears to have far too much fur. There ought to be at least a small amount of skin showing through the fur at the belly, hands, wrists, neck, face, ears, teats, etc.

I know that lots of mammals have dense fur, but primates usually have some areas of skin with sparse hair.

Wow. That video of a Silverback walking on two legs is kind of freakishly close to human. Wild.
