Shortly before Ron Silver died, he was on Dennis Miller. The career thing came up, and Silver said the parts dwindled because “they” said “he was too Jewish, or not Jewish enough, or too old, or not old enough...”

That girl is the spitting image of my prom date.

You're lucky---I look more like him than she looks like my prom date!

He was the 2nd best character in the show!

Jon Voight is the best.

And they are both outspoken Conservatives....

There are three actors, and I like all three, who really make me nervous while watching them. They all look like they could EXPLODE at any moment.

James Woods
John Malkovich
Christopher Walken

That edgy quality is something not many actors truly have.

James Woods was wickedly funny in the TV series “Shark” a few years back. It was of course canceled after a couple of seasons.

He used to be just a great actor. Now I know he’s got guts and character.

I agree with your opinion, “Salvador” is too far out there, sort of the way, just for me, “Platoon” is as well. That said, per acting, perhaps Woods’ acting is good in the movie but I still don’t accept the message or at least question it. Both sides have to be shown, it was too gorey.

For a comparison, “Underfire” with Nick Nolte and Gene Hackman which was a movie about Nicaragua might not have a message I agree with either. But the portrayal is not nearly as objectionable. In my opinion though, it was still Pro-Sandinista.

His parts dwindled because he went from being a rabid liberal to a supporter of George Bush after the 9/11 murders.

One thing about liberal scumbags, they NEVER forgive one of their own for going to the other side.

Excellent post. Woods perceived a a real threat and he acted upon it. Unfortunately, the importance of his pre 9-11 assessment is lost in movie reviews.

Unfortunately James has James Woods disease. Which consists of being one of the few coherent people working in Hollywood.

Before I knew he was conservative, I liked James Woods. I've liked him in everything I've seen him in -- he's one of those guys who can make a movie for me, there's just something likeable and attractive about him.

For me, he has box-office draw, apart from politics.

On the other hand, I used to love Ed Harris -- I still think he's a fabulous actor, and a handsome one to boot. But while I still enjoy the "old" movies (Abyss, The Right Stuff, Apollo 13), his new ones stink because I know who he is. Apaloosa -- yes, I watched it -- stunk.

Matt Damon? Used'ta love him, over him now. Nope. On the top of the list of actors (that includes Harris and Tom Hanks, too) this household refuses to see at the big screen. On the other hand, a flick with Kurt Russel or Clint Eastwood or Gary Oldman or Robert Downey, Jr. -- we're there at the multi-plex.

Are you sure Chris Walken is “conservative”? It doesn’t matter to me — he’s not a screaming liberal and he has always been, is now, and will always be FANTASTIC. Count me a died-in-the-wool Walken fan. He is SO one-of-a-kind. I know at least in his personal lifestyle, he stays very fit and has been married to the same woman for all his adult life, but has no kids. Self-discripline are things he talks about in acting, and self-discipline is a trait natural to the conservative ethos. I think Walken is just a wonderful wild card with the right insticts.

I don’t know if Christopher Walken is conservative or not. Like you, I just know I like him. Great actor, some really good movies.

I don’t know much about John Malkovich either, just that he’s a darn good actor-—and he makes me nervous!

Yes -- and Adam Baldwin, who played "Jane" in Firefly, the cancelled tv series by Joss Wheden. He is an outspoken conservative who has even written for Breitbar, I think, or for some conservative blog. I just learned that a few months ago.

Which is so cool because I have really liked him in Anything (he was the best part of Independence Day, for me, bit part that he had!!) with him in it) since the early '80s, when I saw My Bodyguard with Matt Dillon, Martin Mull, and Ruth Gordon. There's just something about him that I find enormously attractive and appealing. Of COURSE he's a conservative kindred spirit!!!

I’m pretty sure Malkovich is an outspoken conservative. He is VERY scary. He was perfect as the assassin in In the Line of Fire.

The Nazi Space shot was a sub-orbital flight from Germany to the sea of Japan over the USA—to pick tarkets for an a-bomb. They used an A-10 rocket. It was a super secret project under the SS and Hitler himself. One rocket blew up on lift off killing the Cosmonaught/pilot. The second one was a success. splash down in sea of Japan—then flown back to the Fatherland over the North Pole in a specal aircraft (they did exist)—but by then it was too late. Could it have been done without advanced computers? Did Nazis have the rocket skills to do this? Why was it hidden from Von Braun (unless he was in on it) -—It would make a great film to trace it down—the concentration came people who built it—witneses who saw it and the old astronaught himself.
