TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - After a freak accident on the way to Chiva Falls left Lalo Delgado's car and girlfriend on fire, he called 911 for help but was shocked by the unprofessional manner in which the call was handled. "Her initial reaction was laugh and giggle in the background," said Delgado. "It was very disturbing."
Here's the transcript:
911: 911 what is your emergency?
Caller: My car just kinda caught on fire, my girlfriend caught on fire.
911: Is your girlfriend still on fire?
Caller: No.
911: No? (laughter in background)
911: Ok. (chuckles) Umm... Is your vehicle still on fire?
Caller:It's hilarious huh?
911: Sir, is your vehicle still on fire?
Caller: I just heard you smirk... Inaudible.
911: Ok, sir it wasn't regarding that ok.
Caller: Yeah, I just heard you laugh.

Fire the 911 person. Post her picture anywhere possible. This is one person who needs to learn a lesson.
Lucky dude. I wish my girlfriend was HOT too.
Hot in all the right places!
That was my first guess, too. However, if you listen to the voice at the link, it does not sound like such.
Did the 911 Operator follow through on her tasks and dispatch First Responers in a timely manner?
If so, she did her job.
You’re EXACTLY right. Sounds like the 911 operator waited to make sure the girlfriend wasn’t on fire anymore before letting go a chuckle. the rest of it was quite professional. I notice the caller wasn’t so upset that he couldn’t take time to be offended! Which of course means he voted for Obama.
Sometimes, hearing “my girlfriend is on fire” is going to strike someone as funny. I think it would me. We’re human.
I called the animal poison hotline when my 115 lb lab ate several 12 hour dimetabbs. You should have heard the laughter on the other end of the line.

I don't care who you are, that there's funny. Since the operator quickly made sure the girlfriend had been extinguished, I think she should get a pass for laughing at something that's funny, people.
My job is a cable tv/telco tech and I come to your house and you have a handicapped kid in a wheel chair. While I am working on your trouble I am laughing and giggling immaturely all the time I am in the presence of your kid.
Did I follow through on my tasks,Yes.
Was I a total douche bag while doing it,Yes.
Should I be disciplined for my actions?
You bet your ass I should just as this 911 call taker should be.
Absolutely.
Maybe you are just happy or simple minded...?
This is completely unacceptable.
>> This is completely unacceptable.
It seems odd the guy remained focused on the laughter instead of dispatching emergency services.
Don’t cha hate it when your girlfriend catches fire?
That’s hot.
Some people giggle during stressful situations, others may laugh when they hear something odd.
I’m sure a heart surgeon sometimes laughs in the middle of surgery.
It is typically not intentional and in this case did not impede the dispatch process.
And if my child or my husband was on fire and my car burned down, the last thing I would be concerned about was a nervous giggle of a 911 Operator.
