How many are Pakistanis living in Pakistan signing up and having the subsidy delivered to a P.O. Box to funnel back to their madrassas?

I suspect a smart man or woman is lurking here, and will incorporate these ideas into a “Strategies to Combat Obamacare” publication.

No., the penalty is calcualted on a monthly basis. You get one gap in coverage up to 3 months, then 1/12 of the penalty for each uncovered month.

The utter destruction of the medical system and country-wide IRS intrusion into the populace for 16.9% of the population?
Don't seem right to me.

Kenyancare is all about destroying the employer provided health care system. Once that is gone everybody except the rich and connected will be dumped on medicaid or whatever they will call it. It will be defacto single payer.

I wondered about that myself. I could enroll, as you say, in late December and cancel in Janurary. I pay my premium, drop out, and don’t have to worry until the next December, thereby avoiding the 1% tax on my income.

I thing a lot of people are going to be shocked that it is not free. They will blame the Republicans and capitalists.
Spot on. Remember when Dennis Kucinich was going to vote against it? Say what you will, the guy is true to his principles and was a true believer in Single Payer. He changed his mind after Obama flew to Cleveland and had him aboard Air Force One for a private meeting. I'm convinced he would not have changed his vote unless Obama had assured him that eventually, this is going to give us single payer.

Nobody is signing up for “Insurance”. There no longer is Health Care “Insurance”, it is now Health Care “Maintenance”.

I have explained to libs for years that insurance is not maintenance. Auto insurance doesn’t cover oil changes or brake jobs so why should health insurance cover well checkups?

Even worse, when you hit a tree with your Uninsured Car, you can’t get it fixed by calling a State Farm Agent and signing up for Insurance.
Instead of setting up a High Risk Pool for those who chose not to buy Insurance and ended up with a “Pre Existing Condition”, the Rats made their favorite Wet Dream a reality.
Reminds me of when President Bush wanted Part D Medicare to help “Low Income” Seniors. By the time the Congressional Rats gone done with it, they made it all encompassing. Then they have the nerve to repeat the mantra that Bush pushed it without a way to pay for it.
(Of course the fact that Federal Tax Receipts increased by 35% after the Bush Tax Cuts is never mentioned, but that’s another story)...

And you can’t get home insurance when your house is on fire.
A lib I know was bragging to me about how he can now afford his prescriptions because Obama fixed the “donut hole” in Part D that Bush “had put into it”. He thought that prescriptions were all paid for until Bush messed it up.
