about 28 pages of VERY personal questions for the paper version and I do not know for the online version, done by the US Census bureau
Since I am not one of their personnel, essential or not and know of few others who are, why should any of us care about their “survey”?

and it is sparked by contacting your house/senate rep in Washington City. Happened to me last year. They will bug you to death.

Won’t do them any good, I have a phone with a call blocking feature and no one around here will answer the phone unless they know who who it is, snail mail goes in the trash and if they come to the door they will be told to get off the property and come back with a warrant.
Ignore it. Filling it out and not giving truthful answers will just get you in trouble. From what I understand, the worst they can do is fine you $200 for non-compliance, but it has never been a policy for them to go after people.
They will harass you with phone calls, however.
Do you know the 800 number...I’ve been getting a call from an 800 number....they won’t leave a message, and I won’t answer. Doing reverse lookup didn’t help.
Take the form, do not fill it out. Pop a few big caliber wadcutters through the center, and mail it back.

What exactly is the American Community Survey?

It’s put out by the Census Bureau, but is not Constitutionally required. The CB is only supposed to count noses and locations.
The ACS is sent out to gather demographic data like income range, size of home, how many bathrooms, how many cars, racial/ethnic data and much more.
The Census Bureau then provides (likely sells) the data to marketeers, who then can determine which neighborhoods are best or least suited for them to push their products.
NEVER fill out such a survey!
