I got my share of green eggs while in the Army. When we ate in the field and breakfast was brought out from the mess hall, the interaction of the scrambled eggs and the aluminum canisters in the Mermite cans that kept the food warm, turned the eggs green. And sometimes the cooks served ham with the green eggs.
My favorite breakfast was to get the scrambled eggs, fried potatoes and then have the cooks pour the SOS over it all. The SOS served as an insulator and kept the entire meal warm, especially in the winter.

Thankfully, I didn’t get green eggs in the Air Force.
