It was the Holy Spirit who directed Bill OReilly to write his latest book, Killing Jesus, he tells Norah ODonnell in his first interview about the upcoming work. Though the book is not religious and its contradictions of biblical descriptions may upset some, the Fox News anchor and best-selling author believes that in writing it, he is using Gods gifts in a positive way. The interview with OReilly will be broadcast on the 46th season premiere of 60 Minutes on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
All of the ideas come to me in the middle of the night and one night, I just woke up and I went, Killing Jesus, he tells O'Donnell. And I believe because Im a Catholic that comes from the Holy Spirit. My inspiration comes from that
so I wrote Killing Jesus because I think I was directed to write that.

Seriously? Who watches o’reilly? I still cannot believe he is number one in his time slot. He’s one of the main reasons I watch Penny on the Big Bang theory. I mean... If I’m going to watch mindless drivel I may as well enjoy looking at it right?
Bill O'Reilly: The Gospels are wrong but MY word is inspired by the Holy Spirit
Ted Baxter is off his meds. At first I was in denial. No one - Not even BOR could be so religiously stupid. But... this is O'Reilly and so anythig is possible.
Wrong spirit dude...
Not true. In the usual method of crucifixion, as long as you could at least temporarily put some weight on the nail through the feet, then you could breathe and speak. But when the legs gave out, and you hung from your arms, then you found it difficult or impossible to breathe. That was part of the punishment, because instinctively the crucified person would then push more with the feet in order to catch a breath. This could go on for some time.
The Bible accounts suggest that Jesus managed to push up and take one last breath when he spoke those final words.
But, then, I'm afraid that O'Reilly is writing these books more for the money and the fame than for the truth. I can't say that for certain, since I didn't know he had already written two books, and now a third. And, I confess, I've never watched him on TV, since I don't watch TV.
What is it with this guy and “killing”? Is he going to write a book about every single person on this planet who was killed?
Did the Holy Spirit also tell you to pocket the money for the book He “inspired”, O’Reilly?
You’ve got that right! Bill has NO idea error of what he said on this subject. 2 Cor 4:4
“Is he going to write a book about every single person on this planet who was killed?”
As long as people keep forking over money for these books, I am betting the answer will be “Yes”.
I suspect the public will be subjected to a series of his “Killing” books.
Holding my breath till “Killing Garfield” is published.
A most appropriate reference.
I bet Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King are on his list.
What about the other two who were crucified with Jesus? They spoke also.
You beat me to it. The Deceiver is still seducing people with lies. God has given us His Word as a light and a sword, but when we disregard it, we leave ourselves open to believing a lie.
1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
No doubt. Don’t forget Malcolm X and John Lennon.
I’ve seen some of these “higher criticism” types try to claim that there couldn’t have been any thieves crucified with Jesus, because of some interpretation they have of how the Romans did these things. So, I don’t think that argument would have any effect on them.
Once they’ve decided to judge the Bible by the wisdom of men, there is no end to how they can contort it in an attempt to make it say what they want it to say.
Another excellent reference.
Right!
O’Reilly knows how to target audiences.
My Dad (we’re of Irish decent) used to call people like O’Reilly “Big dumb Micks”.
