DAYTON
An expectant mother told police late Sunday night she was shot at by her unborn baby's father, who wants her to get an abortion.
Tanner Hopkins, 23, of Dayton, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of felonious assault and weapons charges, according to the Dayton police report.
The 18-year-old victim told police she was driving on Guenther Road when Hopkins pulled up next to her at the Hoover Avenue intersection and fired two shots without saying a word.
The woman was not hurt. Police said the slugs were found lodged in the rear driver's side door.
The victim reported that Hopkins has insisted she get an abortion and he's mad because she refuses to do that, according to the report.
Police were dispatched to the scene at 11:48 p.m. Sunday.
Officers then tracked Hopkins to his mother's house in the 2900 block of Edison Street.

That was a relationship which wasn’t going to last.
It wasn’t about the abortion, it was about easy and continued sex, I’d guess.
Real step forward for women's rights, NOT!
“It wasnt about the abortion, it was about easy and continued sex, Id guess.”
It was about the abortion so the man could get easy and continued sex. You were guessing correctly.
More than many FReepers think about.
No sarcasm tag?
What a chickensh*t coward.
I hope the mother is able to find a MAN to help her raise the child of this chickensh*t coward - a MAN with shoulders broad enough to bear the duty of fatherhood.
And let this chickensh*t coward rot in his shame.
Well, I’m not sure a sarcasm tag was warranted. My comment was straight on, my attitude sarcastic. “The b**ch dissed him by not doin’ what he asked.”
It was about the abortion so the man could get easy and continued sex. You were guessing correctly.
You really think he shot her because he just wanted easy and continued sex? What a bunch of garbage. You have no clue.
More likely he realized that she had the power to completely turn his life upside down and under the law he just has to take it.
That's no excuse for shooting her. But to suggest that this is just about easy sex is just BS.
Why did the man want an abortion. Men can’t get pregnant.
“More likely he realized that she had the power to completely turn his life upside down and under the law he just has to take it. “
Oh and I suppose his pants just fell down and the nasty just happened? He had nothing to do with that?
He got her pregnant now he should have been a man about it and took care of her and HIS baby.
“According to the report, officers found him in bed with another young woman. “
You know what that means too! Another woman he will have to coerce into having an abortion.
These men just never learn. I honestly wonder if they know where babies come from!
“Men” like this might start to learn when women start to learn.
My daughter got pregnant with her boyfriend that she had been dating for quite some time, they were even talking about marriage. He tried to force her to have an abortion and when that didn’t work, he broke up with her. She didn’t find out until about a year later that he had gotten another girl pregnant and that girl had a baby girl 6 months after my daughter’s son was born. The two got together so that the siblings could know each other, and ended up getting the same court date for child support. I was wishing that they had Judge Judy, because she would have let the guy know where babies come from.
THis only happened because Abortion is legal. IF it was illegal, and there weren’t places to easily get abortions, men would not be able to cajole, brow-beat, or force women to kill their babies.
Men support abortion more than women.
They both need to “learn”!! The problem is who is teaching them. Do you really think Planned Parenthood is a good teacher? Please!
He didn’t want to be punished with a baby and 18 years of child support payments.
“He didnt want to be punished with a baby”
DING DING DING We have a winner!!
Just following presidential orders.
