At my school too.... engineering weed-outs went into the business and education dept's, for the most part.
This says something significant, but I'm not sure what.
Not too many 'Studies' majors when I was in college. That's likely not the story any more, though.
Economics was a temporary stop over for many in my class. After Econometrics and firm theory they all bailed out to be journalism majors or poli-sci majors.
I stayed with Econ and wondered where every one went that semester.
