Kerry knows this condition will never, cannot, be met - its like the Obama Admin is rigging everything so there HAS to be a war. Very much like the demands Austria-Hungary made on Serbia in 1914 after the archduke was shot. And we all know how that turned out.

Who does he think he is? The incarnation of Hilliary Clinton and Mad Albright all rolled into one? This is uncanny. I can’t believe I am watching John Kerry in action here...get it? “In-action” = inaction. YET, he is performing better than his would-be boss...who’d a thunk it?

If Obama was a suicide bomber out to destroy America with Ruassian and Iranian nukes, he would play this exactly like he is playing it.

From Graeeoulf’s post from another thread gives us an excellent addition to the list (hope you don’t mind!):
4. “Obamas interest in bombing non-enemy Syria has everything to do with creating a long-lasting, controversial, DISTRACTION for Congress in order to keep Congress from defunding Obamacare/Boehnerkare.”

I think that this is over; The U.N./Russians will move in and take control of the weapons while becoming hostages against our attack. Attacking Syria might not even come up for a vote.
The rebels will get to keep any WMD that they have.

When you are dealing with the Sand Rats you attack first and explain later. With Assad you blow him up and excuse for it later. You never tip your hand with a Red Line and then do nothing but quibble.

Nothing is going to change.
The Syrians will keep their stockpile claiming that the Russians are monitoring them and things will continue along as they always have.
Russia comes out as the winner from all standpoints. Iran emboldened, Hizbollah emboldened, Syria emboldened. America and her allies (the few left) perceived as weaker now than at any point since Carter.
Syria will be more cautious using chem. weapons which they will use again.
The only result of this futile last few weeks is that Obama has shown the US and the world that he is still a rookie and does not know what he is doing.
The US is humiliated and has lost a lot of deterrence power.
The next test comes when Iran announces that they have the bomb - then, the US and the West will shrug their shoulders and say, “oh my, my”...by then gas prices will jump exponationally.
Obama will keep repeating the “we are leaving all options on the table” mantra while adding his famous, “...and I MEAN it” quip.
