The Republicans screwed up by not tackling health insurance reform before the Democrats did. Keeping kids on parent’s insurance policies until their mid-20s is a very popular option with both Republican and Democratic parents. Requiring health insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions and to remove coverage caps are also popular ideas.
I’m 60 and retired. My husband is still working, at age 59, for a major U.S. corporation. Right now we pay $281/month for a high deductible plan. I’m trying to get my husband to retire next year. The company allows him to continue his health insurance until age 65 at COBRA prices. That would be $1,680/month for that high deductible plan. Minnesota just announced their MNSure (Obamacare) rates for 2014. For a silver plan, we would pay $654/month. Our retirement income would be too high to qualify for any government subsidy. Pardon me if I’m not jumping on the wagon to defund Obamacare.
Personally, I think Republicans are fighting a losing battle to defund Obamacare. If they were smart, they would come up with amendments to the law which not only Republicans could agree to but that they could also sell conservative Democrats on. Modifying the law is a more viable option than defunding it.
You are the worst kind of person.
You don’t deserve any of my income to pay for your healthcare, and I don’t deserve any of yours.
Just because it is good for you doesn’t mean it is good policy, ethical, or even a legal function of our Government.
How much of my income do you deserve?
Why don’t you pay for your own healthcare?
Please die soon so I can stop paying the freight for you deadbeats.
