Posting for two reasons... 1. Beautifully done...no stylizations or runs. (also, yeah I watched some of The Voice this year and knew this kid would win) and 2. Anyone else notice some of the players not exactly being respectful as the anthem was being sung, i.e. Ravens players jumping around on the sideline, no hands over heart.

Lol... Nope... I just find your seeming authority in music amusing.
Maybe I have an ear for it and you do not.
As a young boy I watched the Chicago Bears in the fifties and sixties. I vividly recall their 1963 NFL Championship. In my opinion those fierce players would be very embarrassed by what they have done to the game. Just the opening of the Monday night games is sufficient to make me puke. It’s nothing but hyped entertainment for the low information crowd. Ugly, obscene and nothing to do with the game of football as originally conceived!
“hyped entertainment for the low information crowd”
Basically the Obama Campaign in ‘08 too.
I thought she did a pretty good job (compared to what you normally hear at these events).

I loved her rendition. I hate it when it’s nothing but singing scales that don’t fit the melody.
Personally, I don’t get in too much of a twist over the rest of it.
Didn’t watch the Voice this year but she was fantastic.
I thought she did an excellent job. Not perfect...but not many can sing the song perfectly...start to finish.
I also noticed the lack of hands over hearts by the players. I know that is not unusual, but it still ticks me off. These yahoos shouldn’t be role models for our goofball youngsters...but they often are. So would placing your hand over your heart and showing respect for this country be such a horrible thing? This country where you are able to make millions of dollars for playing a kid’s game?
Rant off/ Putting soap box back in the closet.
Dirk cracks me up. Ever since the Mavs won a championship, Dirk became a singer. Then he went into comedy.
I love the guy...I really believe he is a nice man.
If he’s not...I don’t want to know.
There is only ONE version of our national anthem and it needs to be sung properly, PERIOD!
By the way, is this tread about football players or the national anthem?
Half a key? That comment "indicates little formal training." Half-step or half-tone, of course. Half a key? Nonsense.
If the blue collar schlubs in the stands can take their hats off, the million dollar prima donnas on the sidelines can take those silly wave caps off of their heads.
I find it more disrespectful to hear the crowd cheering at certain parts of the song or the ham-handed theatrics of setting off fireworks during “bombs bursting in air” that so many sports stadiums do now.
Did I mention that I had formal training? Please remind me.
Players don’t tend to pay that much attention to the anthem, to them it’s the pause between warming up and playing. This was made more so Thursday with the lightening delay, they’d gotten warmed up, then they had to go back to the locker room until the league decided it was safe, then they got 5 minutes to rewarm up, then the anthem, then the game.
