Adding “Los Angeles” to the team name was a ploy to get Westside, South Bay, and San Fernando Valley people to come to or watch Angel games. IMHO it doesn't work.

“The were the first MLB team in SoCal...

SoCal Angels?

Hey, they’re the hottest team in baseball right now, so Arte can do whatever he wants.”

You got the teams mixed up. The Dodgers were the first MLB team in southern CA and are the hottest team in baseball.
