According to John McCain, pouring water over a terrorist’s face which scares them is illegal torture, but he’s all for starting more killing wars.

John McCain, walk across the aisle and sniff Teddy Kennedy’s old seat. That will calm you down and you’ll feel great, no more need for another war!

“Some Libertarians in Congress are in the way...”

“If Obama makes his case to the American people we can sell this to our colleagues and constituents...”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
it’s those pesky Libertarians in Congress-—nevermind even Dems in the classified briefing aren’t convinced, much less the 91% poll numbers against attacking Syria.
[DEM] Harkin on Classified Syria Briefing: ‘Frankly Raised More Questions Than It Answered’
“I found the evidence presented by Administration officials to be circumstantial.”
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3061397/posts
Reports said Obama on the phone with Congressmen yesterday and today.
It’s entirely possible that Obama hasn’t put in this many man-hours of work since his first day at “work.”
We can be certain that in the next 10 days there is going to be much dealing, bribing, blackmailing-—at the end of which Congress loses no matter how it votes, and Obama will do whatever he decides to do. Regime change not off the table?
He has a full plate at the G-20 meeting (world economy and currency?) and at home-—0carenightmare, immigration, and debt ceiling/budget.
Meanwhile, McLame is lying about the Sryia rebels, the opposition. He is pretending it’s FSA all the way. Not so, the FSA have been overwhelmed by anti-Assad out-of-country jihadis.
There are many moving parts to Obama’s latest move. Remember: It’s all about HIM! He took his and Cameron’s recent humiliation and turned it into a win/win for him-— as if he cares a whit about the Constitution, or Congress, or the “people.” He took his move from Cameron. His sudden about-face bought him time to save political face.
*****************************************************
Mark Steyn:
The administration’s ingenious plan is to lose this war in far less time than we usually take. In the unimprovable formulation of an unnamed official speaking to the Los Angeles Times, the White House is carefully calibrating a military action “just muscular enough not to get mocked....”
So what do we want in Syria? Obama can’t say, other than for him to look muscular without being mocked, like a camp bodybuilder admiring himself in the gym mirror....
Meanwhile, the hyperpower is going to war because Obama wandered off prompter and accidentally made a threat.
***********************************
Obama could decide to do nothing, OR he could decide to do regime change.
McCain saying that this is sending Iran the message that we will ignore their nukes.
Which makes as much sense if your own kids act up and you go punch your neighbor in the mouth. Good ole McCain and Graham. Just gotta have their daily camera fixes like Junkies need dope. They don't care what they have to do or say to get attention and camera attention either.
If McLame and Graham are backing it, it has got to be a looser.
"They are saying they can 'sell' it to their constituents."
Only to constituents with adequate brain weight. Assad and Putin are Iran's ocean port providers and protectors. As for bipartisan socialist politics and which anti-defense socialist faction gets the best gold (debt), I don't care about that.
