Three years after settling for silver at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, the prospective members of the U.S. men’s hockey team have been voicing confidence in their ability to make that final step up the podium this winter in Sochi. They have a solid core of skaters, and among the best field of goaltenders in the world.
“I don’t think we are sneaking up on anyone,” defenceman Jack Johnson said, in the USA Today.
On Tuesday, that sentiment might have become fact.
USA Hockey released its jersey for the tournament, in collaboration with Nike, declaring the uniform is the product of “decades of design” that will “create a lightweight jersey with distractions removed and range of motion maximized.”

That’s a crappy costume. They should have had a comic artist design the jersey as they usually have some pretty good ideas, like this one for example.

I still remember watching every single 1980 USA Olympic hockey game. My friends thought I was nuts but by the time the Soviet Game came, they were glued to the TV and we screamed our heads off as those magnificent college boys hit everything in red that came near the puck. Then Reagan came. Ahhhh, good times.

The design itself is rather traditional—but the sprinkles on the shoulders and the fake laces? Gay.
