I do think Low Winter Sun was much improved from the premier episode. Actors settle into roles and make shows better.
Its still not a realistic portrayal of Detroit though.

Still too slow. The first episode was about 15 minutes of story crammed into an hour. Last night it was more like 25. The fact that Breaking Bad is moving at such breakneck speed to get to its conclusion in just six more weeks in the hour before LWS isn't helping by comparison.
