Our team here in MS has astroturf but we don’t have a dome.

Many schools are going to artificial turf now. In the long term, it can be a wash or even save money based on water, mowing and other upkeep needed on a natural field.

And the artificial turf has demonstrated a lower incidence of player injuries - mainly knee injuries.

My son's middle school FB field has astroturf...but there's a good reason for that. During our Texas summers, you have to water the fields to keep large cracks from forming. The artificial turf mitigates that problem.

This field is used several times a week most of the year, for football and soccer.

I've been to the Allen stadium, it's a beaut!

The stadium in Frisco will be used a ton, too: football games, band competitions, graduations, soccer, lacrosse, etc.
