I don’t think a back up car makes all that much difference these days. A long race on a big track like this leaves them with a lot of options and I suspect JJ will be in the top 15 inside 50 laps.
The track is seriously fast right now. They’re entering turn 1 at nearly 215mph now.
Starting last is an issue, for sure, but he’s got a long race to make up ground. I’m more interested as to why he wrecked - weird aero forces at work. Church then errands today. Big trip next week to Gotham.
Had a 2” rock hit the window of the BMW yesterday while we were out taking a drive. In 4000 miles I’ve had 2 rocks hit that car’s windshield while our other 2 cars haven’t had a hit. Darn car is a rock magnet; cha-ching!

Freakish bizarre one-in-a-million event. No leftover rocks on roadway from winter. No construction zones near. Had to fallen off a bumper of a truck that hauled 2” rock or....?
Crazy race. It’s as if a hidden hand would grab a car and turn it.
In pre-race Nicole spoke of something missing on the 24 team. I see it but I think it’s much more obvious on the 88 team. Personally I’d like to see Letarte back with Gordon for a few more seasons.
No answers here, but neither the 24 nor the 88 can re-start worth a darn and once they’re in “fast” traffic, seem unable to pass.
Me too. Noticed that we got off to a great start on the thread, but then it died off... I was off finishing tile in my sunroom, a project that has been far too long in the making. But my picks were great this weekend, one of my better scores!

After Saturdays rock incident w/the BMW, our first windshield rock ding (actually it was a rock smash on the BMW) in over 5 years on 3 vehicles, I figured we were safe for awhile. Took a short drive in the 2004 F-150 yesterday to assist my wife’s company w/a project. Water truck driving in the opposite direction threw up two rocks and both caused chips & holes on the trucks front windshield.
Ridiculous St Nicholas; it’s only glass but I’m not driving for a few days.
WOW! Someone needs to bring out a street cleaner and sweep the roads around there. Dang. I usually have bad luck in twos... but that is crazy (although, that is the 3rd one so you might be ok).

Just read an article about a retired car dealer in Pierce, Nebraska that stored hundreds of new autos when they wouldn’t sell and they are now going back on the market in “as is” condition. Unfortunately many of the autos were left outside in the elements. We’re flying out tomorrow for a weekend reunion in Omaha then to New York for a couple of days. I might have to buzz up to Pierce and see what’s happening. Mind the fort and leave a light on for me.
