Yeah you might think that but I usually assume that people who value anonymity don’t stay long in the lime light once they have made their cash.
Oprah is so miffed that her OWN network is doing poorly. She broke away from her talk show audience and went after another type of audience. They aren’t supporting her. As my grandfather used to say, “You need to dance with the one that brung ya.”
She is going to great lengths to be a part of her new audience’s “experience” that she is beginning to look cartoonish. She’s on the wrong side of the revolution.
Unless they are attention whores.
How does being told “you can’t afford that” translate to “refused to serve”? I’m sure if she simply said “you’re wrong, I can” they would have served her. But the fact that she thought her only choice was to either “blow up” or leave is as much of a negative about her as is the snootiness and the ignorance of the clerk.
That would almost be a compliment to money-bags Oprah. In actuality she apparently was interested in the bag.

This unfortunate incident does sound like Oprah was the victim of racism. Sadly, even legitimate instances of racism raise suspicion because the boy has cried wolf far too many times with completely illegitimate cries of racism.

Was at the airport in Zurich, January 2012, passing through on my way back the U.S. from Africa. Browsed a few of the shops...unbelievable how expensive everything was. In one shop, there were beautiful handbags, one sitting out on the counter had a $5,000 price tag! I wouldn’t even touch it! Took a picture of it, though. Was nice to browse...to see first-hand what the 1%’ers get for their money!
Exactly. I used to run a meat packing plant and I dressed in clothing appropriate for that kind of work. One year on Christmas Eve I had yet to buy my wife a present and went to a nearby jewelry store to get her something. I couldn't get anyone to even acknowledge me. When I was younger and drove an older, crappy car I wanted to finally get a new one. Drove onto the car lot and 3 salesmen chatted while I looked at cars. None ever came over to see if I wanted to buy a car!
Based upon what evidence? Maybe the store has a security video they can upload on YouTube and we all can see if the color of Oprah's skin was the cause of her not getting to buy a bag. Oprah is an attention whore and lately she is needing other avenues of advertising.
I got a snicker out of her bellyaching, guess her 'Force' was not with her that day.
If racism did not exist, it would have to be invented, to conform with the frame of thinking that has overtaken a large part of the “liberal” voting bloc.
This was not racism. It was a judgment by the shop owner based on a perceived hostility on the part of the purported “customer”, come in seeking the confrontation.
