On Sean Hannity’s radio show on Thursday, conservative columnist Ann Coulter said the feud between New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie and Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul was designed to distract attention from an immigration vote by a Christie-appointed senator.
According to the author of “Mugged: Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama,” Christie ginned up the feud to divert attention from the vote in favor of the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill by New Jersey Republican Sen. Jeffrey Chiesa — a recent Christie appointee to fill the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg’s seat.
“A footnote here on this little bitch-fight in the Republican Party between Gov. Chris Christie and Sen. Rand Paul,” she said. “I just want to point out what I believe everyone is missing. The reason Chris Christie started this little bitch-fight is to distract from the fact that he had his senate nominee vote for amnesty.”
