I keep posting the same thing, NY does deserve Weiner. When you get right down to it, the same people who lectured us that it was "a private matter between Bill and Hillary" and that "character doesn't matter as long as they do the job" are the loudest critics against Weiner. Not because they see him as a turd, but only because he's become a national punch line.

In a way Weiner is smart and he knows his progressive audience. He just has to lay low for the summer (assuming he can) and let the media suck up all the oxygen from the other candidates. By labor day the press will be tired of Weiner and he'll start appealing to the important progressive interests (unions, occupiers, race-pimps etc). He'll be in.

Bottom line: If they wanted to, Bill & Hillary could shut Weiner's campaign down anytime they wanted to, but they're letting it continue. You have to ask yourself why.
