There is nothing cheap about methanol. Cost and weight per BTU is probably higher than most all other choices. Glad they are on sale, but don’t think that is a bargain for preparedness. Its not. No survivalist would ever have that in his bag.

I have used small tuna tins with a little bit of rubbing alcohol in a fireplace to help start a log when kindling was unavailable, that works quite well, this could be used as something to help start a fire if the wood is wet perhapse????

Plus, methanol is just a fancy name for wood alcohol. In a survival situation, if you can find wood, you probably don’t need methanol, and if you do, you can just set up a simple still and make as much as you want.
