Well, I’m not talking about MY Dog. I make it a point to not trust any animal I do no interact with on a daily basis.
When I took my 80 pound Male Chow out in Public, I was amazed how people would just let their little children walk right up to his face and try to pet him.
He was a great Dog, but I always kept myself between the Dog and people’s Children. If they wanted to pet him, I held his head so he wouldn’t turn around and nip anybody. He never even tried, but I never forgot he was an Animal.
My Chow was a Redhead, and the kids always cried out “Kimba” when they saw him. That Lion King Movie must have been a monster hit.
The Chow we have now, a forty pound Female, is nervous when she is around people she doesn’t know. Something must have happened to her before we got her from an Animal Shelter.
I don’t take her out in crowded areas. Retraining didn’t help and I’m not giving her Drugs to cure the problem because it isn’t a problem in our household situation.
I can’t speak to those poor hogs, bunnies, chipmunks and mice, but my silly little Dog thinks she can catch Birds who dare to invade her backyard. As of today, it’s Birds 1000-, and my Dog 0-.
My half Lab, half Chesapeake and half “other” is kinda unfriendly with those creatures beyond the greater pack.
Swans are mean enough to protect themselves and their offspring.
