NEW York City's dating scene is so brutal, even Miss USA has to look for love online.
A man searching on the matchmaking app Tinder was shocked to discover a profile for 6-foot stunner Nana Meriwether, who won her crown in 2012, the New York Post reports.
"Its funny - the guys Ive said yes to have all been like, 'Are you real?' " Meriwether told New York magazine.
"Im like, 'Yeah, of course.' Even pageant-title-holders get lonely."
Meriwether said its a struggle to find love in the Big Apple, where busy singles have short attention spans.
"Heres the thing about dating in New York: It doesnt exist," she said. "Theres so much going on in the city, there are so many distractions, that people just forget to go on a second date."
The South-African born beauty's dating profile features a photo of herself in a bikini and pageant sash, and she says she first downloaded the matchmaking app in April, while she was still Miss USA.

Laz promises to not merely hit it.
1) Too tall for me...2) too young for me.
If she gets a tweet from an "Anthony" or an "Eliot," I advise her to proceed with caution.
3)She'd kill me. But what a way to go......
A real conversationalist.
Well, all the girls in that ads for those sites look kind of like that, so why should anyone be surprised?
It's a Botox-driven, plastic surgery cursed generation that not surprisingly looks aghast at both the idea of having children and a long term relationship as either one would be beneath them......I mean c'mon haven't you ever considered what stretch marks would do to my figure?
“..but I’m finding that the older I get the more it seems today’s men and women in the 19-29 set are largely money-grubbing, self-absorbed, annoying little douchebags that have very little feeling for anyone beside themselves.”
I’m in my late 40’s and I have to agree with you. I definitely see it at my workplace.
In the last year, I’ve had to put a couple of these people in their place. It was done in a workplace appropriate manner and without much hoopla. I’m more than certain that it didn’t win me any friends - but so be it. The level of I, I, I, Me, Me, Me was so huge that these kids needed to be taken done a notch.
In the long run, I can’t say whether it did any good. Kids today (not all of them though) have been warped by the educational system as well as parents with low value systems.
She inherited the crown when the original Miss USA 2012 (Olivia Culpo) became Miss Universe.
I didn’t even know she became Miss USA until she handed over the crown during Miss USA 2013.
Beautiful...
I almost forgot to mention their mania for tattoos-maybe its just me but women with an armful of tattoos is a gigantic turn-off for me. BTW-I’m glad you said something unlike so many people today who just keep quiet and let these annoying people just run roughshod over them-well done!
Hadn’t heard of her before, but if Wikipedia is right, she’s got some great genes. She as a two-time D1 All American in volleyball. Her father is a physicians and medical researcher who became a national caliber sprinter despite never having run in either high school or college.
Yes, I agree with the tattoo issue. Although I’m certain there’s a contingent on Free Republic who’d disagree, I view them not as art or symbolism but as a form of self-mutilation.
Regarding your last sentence, I had to laugh a bit. Normally, I’m a relatively easy going non-assuming person who doesn’t make waves - but there comes a time when a person has to speak up and say something.
Like I said, it probably didn’t win me any friends with these two 20-somethings. And frankly, I don’t care. But something needed to be said. If I possibly popped a little bit of the self-absorbed Me Me Me mentality out of one of these doofuses.

Articulate, isn’t she?
Not guilty.

Clearly, command of the English language didn’t figure large in the contest.
On the other hand, when you, like, look like that, who cares, ya know?

+1 to that, its not just you. Not just that, but the various bits of metal shoved through different areas of the face....
RE: Beautiful...
So, why no date?
