I understand that in Sudan, female genital mutilation is common too. Maiming surgery isn't right even if it is common.
And yes, I am using "maiming" in the dictionary-accurate sense:

To wound or injure (someone) so that part of the body is permanently damaged.
To deprive of the use of some part of the body by removal, or by disabling its function.
The assault on women’s bodies as they were created by God is a rejection of the Creator Himself. “Freep you, you got it wrong!”
It’s so easy to mutilate women ... and it’s so difficult to build a culture in which all people, men and women, thank God for the gift of their embodied life by conducting themselves in holiness, as sons and daughters of the King.
