You think had he spoken up, that would have shortened his career?

Not likely, but it would have ended on a much more positive note.

What was he supposed to “speak up” about? That js hung around a bunch of disadvantaged boys? Everyone in town knew that, and praised him for it. The second mile was immensely popular - and powerful - within the state.

Did you know that louis freeh sat on the board of mbna bank - who was the largest single contributor to the second mile? Not Joe Paterno, louis freakin’ freeh.

What exactly did Joe Paterno do that was wrong, in your mind? I’m not understanding here.

Yeah, you're right, he never knew nuttin, couldn't have known nuttin, he was just a great, great man, and a great, great football coach. When you measure that fact against allowing the ruination of multiple young boys, you should always side with the great football coach........

You know, it's what's important here after all......./s

It is a direct reprint - word for word - from the 2007 expose on ms. triponey. Facts are facts. I’m a troll? How so?

When someone reported what they saw, Paterno should have dialed 9-1-1. Hedidn’t. He told his boss, who like Mr. Paterno, couldn’t see past the end of the football field.

Yes there would have been bad publicity. But then he would have done everything he could have. Saint Joe himself said, after the worst pad press of all—far worse than anything that would have happened had he called thecops initially, that he wished he’d done more.

Again, the program wasn’t the problem. The program being more the most important thing in the region was. Paterno himself put “the program” before everything else, and there are some things that are just more important. Twisted values are what blew this up. Sandusky wasn’t their fault. Their unwillingness to break cover about him was. And it’s that twisted value that brought it all down.

It’s clear that you are a big fan of Paterno’s. Paterno had a great program, no question. But your refusal to accept that their values put “the program” above anything else is clouding reality for you. Paterno screwed by by putting “the program” before everything else and it cost him dearly. It’s a cautionary tale that most football boosters will never understand, and they won’t understand it for the exact same reason Paterno left in utter shame.

What did Mike McQueary tell Joe Paterno? MM has become an unreliable witness in that his story has changed multiple times. We know he watered it down. We also know he saw no rape - his own words under oath.

Why would Joe Paterno call 911? Over a sketchy second-hand, watered down story? That’s a good way to get the University sued if nothing comes from the complaint.

MM the night before discussed what he saw with Dr. Dranov and his Father - BOTH mandatory reporters. Dranov asked him 3 times if there was anything sexual and MM repeatedly said NO. They did nothing but told MM to go see Joe in the morning.

Joe put MM in touch with Curley and Schultz, who was in charge of the PSU Police Department. What did MM tell them? Who knows, again MM is an unreliable witness.

Don’t you think it’s odd that JS was put in jail in 6 months and Curley and Schultz’s trials are going on 2 years and haven’t even reached prelims yet?

I appreciate your civility with regards to this, but you should do some more reading if you really want to know the truth. Blehar and Ziegler would be good places to start.

He could have stopped it. He didn’t.

It matters not if you live a virtuous life for Christ, if.... minutes before leaving this world, you do little to stop a sexual beast from sodomizing boys.

You obviously don’t understand Christianity.

The great people are the courageous people.

In his last days, weeks, or few years.......Paterno was anything but a ......Lion.

Paterno was a corrupt man who allowed pedophiles to run amuck.

Is God saying he is for ‘open carry’ or ..’concealed carry’?

Understanding God is tough.

He could have stopped what, exactly? Why was he supposed to see what ALL the state and local law enforcement agencies, ALL the child and welfare agencies, the entire town, the entire state wasn’t able to see and prevent?

You should read Jim Clemente’s (the leading child abuse expert in the country) portion of the King and Spalding Report sometime if you really want to learn about, and help prevent child abuse. Dumping on Joe Paterno because it seems like the thing to do might make some of you feel better about yourselves, but does nothing to help the cause of preventing child abuse.

Joe Paterno lived an exemplary and honorable life. That didn’t change. Ever.

That was posted in an effort to discredit vicky triponey - who lied to the WSJ, CNN, and various other media outlets (for profit).

She is not credible, yet was taken as such. "The woman who stood up to Joe Paterno"...laughable. Joe wanted due process for ANY student that got in trouble. She painted around the fact that she ran a kangaroo court and managed the students in a manner that would make Stalin proud.

It must have broken Joe’s heart to leave his parents back there on Krypton.

Remember the Sandusky ice cream cone?

They're making a Sandusky spud these days.

Headed straight for the hot coals.
